Fathers Day

Just some quick thoughts about the WONDERFUL men in my life….

First to the man that “didn’t clip my wings.” My dad has always allowed me to be myself, to SOAR even if the world told me I couldn’t fly. I owe so much to him. He knows he is my favorite and I know I am his, (even if my sisters and brother think the same thing.) Now I have been able to witness him with Brinley. What a joy to see how she has grown to love Pa-paw Sage.

What a blessing it is to have Justin as my husband. He keeps me smiling because of his childlike attitude of life. Brinley has him whipped; it has been fun watching their bond grow. Through the summers I am no longer needed. Brinley wakes up looking for dad and goes to bed reading with dad.

My Grandpa, the Patriarch of our large extended family. He has guided and helped Justin and I through the first years of our life together. I am truly thankful to him for his support.

I have a great father-in-law who purely loves Brinley. He takes half days on Friday to watch her while I am a work (he says its his pleasure.) Brinley looks forward to her day with Pa-paw Ottis.

Together

5 years ago Justin and I were sealed together for time and all eternity. Unfortunately that day seems more of a blur now, with a few sharp and clear memories that I enjoy thinking about from time to time. I have had the best years of my life since Justin and I have been together. Here are just a few memories that stick-out to me…

Justin you have been supportive and patient thank you for all you have and continue to do for me. You are my best friend. Can't wait for the future, we have been blessed with great family, true friends, and strong faith!

Cravings

I went to bed last nigtht craving ice cream and waffles. I thought I would be good and just sleep it off. The next morning...

Thanks to Owen my family enjoyed the mixture of the two. We had waffles with carmel, sprinkles, whipped cream, and to be healthy fruit. BRIN LOVED THEM, and so did momma. Yay, to cravings!!!!

Potty Time

It’s been about 3 weeks of serious potty training, and we are doing really well. Still tough trying to go on the big potty in the real world (not on her tiny pink potty), so she has a few accidents. I can’t wait until this is less work on Justin and I. Asking her every 2 minutes if “you need to use the potty” can be wearing. I guess the strangest thing about potty training is the fact that you can get so excited to see poo poo in a toilet. Who would have known?

Catch Up

Brinley’s 1st time to DISNEYLAND…
We had such a great time. I forgot how much I love Disneyland or maybe its just watching your own child’s excitement!? Brinley couldn’t believe she was seeing Ariel, and Mickey Mouse. She was really worried about a homeless Donald Duck. Monday we went to Mickey’s House, Minnie’s House, and saw Goofy walking out of a building she thought was his house. She woke up Tuesday Morning went over to Papa and said, “Where’s Donald Ducks House?” We spent all day trying to find a suitable home we could call Donald’s house. The very last thing we did that day was watch the parade. Low and behold Donald was on a float walking in and out of a castle. We found his home (THANK GOODNESS)!!! She no longer worried about poor Donald and his housing situation.

Less than 3 months Left
I am now in my last trimester!!! Yea, I guess I shouldn’t get too excited the next 3 months are going to be super HOT. I guess I am not that good at being pregnant, I don’t mean to complain but it is just not my most favorite time, but I love what comes because of pregnancy A BABY!!! Last pregnancy I didn’t take ANY pictures after the 4 month because how awful I thought I looked, while I have still gained more weight than I should have I promised I would take more pictures. This is the best I can do to remember this pregnancy…

YES, I think it is silly taking pictures of my own belly in the mirror, but I feel funny posing while someone else takes pictures of my growing belly. Both ways uncomfortable.

Elmo and Earrings

I am terrible with jewelry I lose it so easily, well let me just be honest I lose everything easily, my cell phone, wallet, car keys, EVERYTHING (I have managed not to lose Brinley, YET:) So, I have been asking for cheap jewelry stuff I could lose and not cry over.
Justin and Brinley got home after shopping for Mother’s Day Friday night and I asked Brinley “What did you buy momma?” And she proceeded to tell me with a smile “An Elmo card, necklace, earrings.” Followed by a stern “No, no, momma!”

I guess Justin knowing his wife all to well that I would try to pry out information from my 2 yr old tried to get her to tell me no, no. Unfortunately for him she told me that after she spilt the beans. I woke up early on Sunday and found an Elmo card, earrings, and a necklace, just as Brinley told me. I don’t like surprises anyway I thought that was too cute!!!!

Mother’s Day may just be one of my most favorite days of the whole year. I know that I have only had a few but, the few I have had have been great. It is a day that I can reflect on just how amazing it is to be a MOM. I don’t take for granted the ability I have to be a mother, I know that there are going to be trails through out the process of raising children but (as someone once put it to me) “When you become a parent you pick-up one end of a stick and you don’t let go through whatever ride you are dealt.” But it is worth it all. Thank you Brinley for allowing me to be a mom you are my sunshine!!!!

Brinley's 1st Pedicure

Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day with my mom. We sent her to the spa to get a massage and a facial, later my 2 sisters, Brinley, and I meet her for pedicures. Yes, Brinley got her first real pedicure with a flower and all. (I don’t think I got my first pedicure until I was going to prom.) She found the massage chair to be the coolest thing in the world. She informed us that there were monsters living in the chair, yet she didn’t mind lingering in the chair long after her pedicure was done!

Aren’t her toes so cute!!! Mine are already swelling, thanks to poor circulation due to many sprained ankles, and torn ligaments (BASKETBALL.) I remember our trainer telling me that I would most likely have trouble with circulation for good, but being young and ignorant I didn’t do all the necessary exercises that may have helped. Oh well, just wait until the 9th month I’ll be walking around on BALLONS.
