My Dancing Ballerina

Brinley had her first dance recital yesterday afternoon, long anticipated dance recital. She has been dancing for over a year now from a friend and great instructor in a cute little dance studio that they added on to their house. However, their isn’t enough room for the parents to watch so I drop her off every Tuesday for a half an hour and wonder what and how she is doing. I couldn’t wait to see what she had learned and I was as nervous and excited as I will admit for a 4-year-old recital. She was fantastic my little rule following girl was right on task, and if she hadn’t been I would have been beaming just the same! Our families both came to support, which is always nice and made that day so special for our SWIRLING, TWIRLING, ballerina.

I started a crafting blog ( http://www.fabulousonateacherssalary.blogspot.com ) about a month ago with very little understanding of the BLOGGING world, and let me tell you its is its own little world.

I have been very happy learning and growing from so many people with talent clicking on to amazing blogs can be a rush. What new creation will I see today? It can really get addicting!

The Case of the Missing Cheerios

The date was April 24th, 2010 when a faint giggling sound was heard in the upstairs master bedroom. At that approximant time the two children of the house were to be having quite time so I, the detective, went to investigate and here is what I found...

A FULL family sized box of Cheerios had been dumped and spread over the entire bedroom. I question those at the scene and fingers were pointed in all directions. I had to crack this case. Who was the instigator, who got the box out, and who decided commit this heinous crime?

After much intense interrogation, I finally got a full confession from one of the culprits, Brinley got the box out from the upstairs food storage closet and Owen committed the crime. Because of her full confession I let her off easier and made her help clean the awful mess (which she promptly fell asleep doing.)

However the ringleader got a more severe punishment he was put behind bar for the next few hours (okay just so you know it was nap time, he did fall asleep he didn’t just have to serve out his sentence awake;)

I was able to salvage the remains of the bedroom (thanks to a good vacuume!!!)

Dear Justin,

While you were at school I decided it would be nice to spruce up the home a bit with a few new decorations. I know that that is not the number one priority, especially on your list, however I am feeling quite crafty right now and needed an outlet. And I can explain…

It started out as a mess trying to figure out what I wanted to do, but don't worry its all clean now! Here is what I did...

Do remember the counter top before? It was a little bland...

But now doesn't that look much better?

How about the Armorie, wont it be much more aesthetically pleasing to watch TV now?

Now I wouldn’t be so quick to blame me for all this spontaneity you can blame Beth the creator of The Stories of A 2 Z blog. She really is a bad influence on me, I already have 3 more project for the upcoming days. With her around our home may just become more fun to look at, the nerve. One more thing you should know, I only spent $40 at Hobby Lobby and I used a lot of things we already had so that’s defiantly a bonus.

I do know dinner isn’t ready yet and the last load of laundry isn’t folded and put away but I can order a mean Chinese take out and we could enjoy it our newly revamped kitchen. What do you think?

One Sweet Day

The stars aligned, Justin and I both had a Saturday free and clear of any obligations, WOOHOO!!! So instead of hanging out at home (which sounded really good too) we crammed in as much as we possibly could.

First to the zoo at 8:00 am where we spent a few hours enjoying the weather, animals, and company. Grandma and Grandpa Otis were able to come with us which always makes my kids happy. Brin took a Camel ride with Grandma, they were able to touch the Stingrays, and road on the Carousel before eating lunch and packing up. Owen particularly loved the Monkeys, after a monkey would swing on by he promptly signed and repeated "more more." I think we could have stayed there all day for him and he would have loved it. Brin is still reluctant to touch the Stingrays but we are getting closer. I on the other hand think they are just adorable, I could just pick them up and squeez'em.

After we crashed at my parents (so we didn't have to travel all the way home) for a few hours so the kids could recharge. We cleaned ourselves up and off we were.

Next we saw "How to Train Your Dragon" FABULOUS!!!! Owen did great for the first half of the movie but he came out swinging on the last half so Justin and I took turns walking with him on the side of the theater. Thankfully only a handful of people were at that showing so there was no walking over people in and our of our isle. But totally recommend the movie it was GREAT!!!

Finally we stopped at Thia Liana for dinner and as always it was delicious. The kids love the "Fire Soup" and so they are very well behaved the entire time, too busy eating.

We showered the kids and off to bed they went, now my turn. Just wanted to write it down before I got too busy and forgot. I love Saturdays with no work, however they are just as tiring:)
